Getting A Great Research Paper Sample In The APA Format

When you are using research for support tin your writing you have to use a format such as MLA or APA. Science and some Social Studies classes tend to run to he APA formatting. However, it is the teacher’ decision as to what format he or she wants to use for assigned writing. The APA can be broken down into eleven distinct parts:

  1. The title page-it is centered and there is not bold type used
  2. Abstract-this is a summary of what you are proving, it is centered, and again you will not use any boldface
  3. Introduction-this is where you can include background material, the thesis, and it too has not bold print in a centered format
  4. Method-here you will explain any experiments or tests you preformed, you will mention any items you use dint he process, and this too is centered without bold type
  5. Results-this will be the section that you explain how the experiments or tests went, centered and no boldface
  6. Discussion-you can now draw conclusions and ideas from the results of your methods in this section, also centered with no bold print used
  7. References-this section will include all the reference such as data, interviews, and informational texts that you sued in the APA paper, as always no boldface and centered
  8. Footnotes-yes, even though the footnote is almost extinct, you still have to site any footnote worthy materials, it has no boldface and is centered
  9. Tables-your theories or hypothesis may need a table or several tables, if it does this is where you would put them
  10. Figures-you might have figures or drawings that are important t the paper, if you do you would include them at this point of the writing
  11. Appendix-in your appendix be very thorough and also it should be no bold print and centered

If you take each of the eleven sections at a time, you can slowly put the paper together. Your font will be size 12 in Times New Roman or Arial and you margins will be 1” on the top, bottom, left, and right with a .5 header and left justified. The research document in APA form has many other rules; so you might want to buy an APA guide or book mark one on your computer for a speedy reference tool.
